Diffinity GenomicsTM and Sigma-Aldrich® Sign Global Distribution Agreement for RapidTip®
Rochester, NY – November 29, 2011
Diffinity Genomics™, Inc. a biotechnology company focused on providing faster, simpler nucleic acid purification products for life science researchers, announced they have signed a non-exclusive global distribution agreement with Sigma-Aldrich® to distribute Diffinity’s PCR purification product, the Diffinity RapidTip®. The distribution agreement will help expand the availability of Diffinity’s RapidTip brand products to life science researchers worldwide who desire a faster, easier way to purify their PCR products.
Diffinity Genomics has developed technology that can be used to remove impurities from a wide range of nucleic acid samples based on different molecular properties, such as structure (e.g., single vs. double-stranded DNA) or size (e.g., short vs. long DNA sequences). The company’s current product line, the Diffinity RapidTip for PCR Purification, decreases the time of PCR purification to approximately one minute, using just a standard pipettor and one Diffinity RapidTip pipette tip, for use in downstream applications such as Sanger sequencing, SNP analysis, and microarray printing. No additional reagents, equipment, or consumables are needed and waste is limited to just the single, “functionalized” pipette tip. The RapidTip appreciably reduces the time and effort by laboratory personnel to purify samples enabling them to spend more time on higher value-added activities, such as analysis of results. The technology is also easily adaptable for use with virtually any manual, bench top, or automated laboratory fluid handling system.
"Our focus has been on expanding Diffinity's products around the world. Sigma-Aldrich is a well-respected, major life science reagent supplier with a commitment to providing innovative products,” said Robin Hodownes, VP, Sales & Marketing, Diffinity Genomics. "The RapidTip has been making encouraging gains with customers around the world and we’re excited about the synergies that are available from our new agreement and the opportunity to better serve the needs of this growing market with current and future purification products."

Diffinity also has non-exclusive distribution agreements with strong regional partners in 16 countries in North America, Australia, Europe, and Asia. See for more information.
