About Us

Our mission is to develop and commercialize DNA and RNA assays for rapid detection of the presence of specific genetic target sequences, such as Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) .

Diffinity Genomics has an exclusive license on the platform technology from the University of Rochester, where it was developed by Dr. Lewis Rothberg and Dr. Huixiang Li. Multiple patent applications have been filed internationally. Researchers and clinicians at the University of Rochester Medical Center, one of the premier medical research institutions in the United States, collaborated in the further development and application of the technology for SNP detection.

In earlier prototype development work, the Diffinity Genomics technology has detected subfemtomole quantities of oligonucleotides, unprocessed polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplified clinical samples and synthetic RNA. In double blind experiments with the Functional Genomics Center at the University of Rochester Medical Center, Diffinity Genomics demonstrated the efficacy of the technology for genotyping knock-out mice and SNP-containing rats.
