- Extensive hands-on experience with nucleic acid extraction, purification, and analysis
- The ability to assimilate and represent the Company's technology and products in a credible and compelling manner to a wide array of people

- The ability to contribute original ideas is essential for success in this position. Excellent organization and communication skills, both oral and written, are required as are strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Major Responsibilities
- Work with internal technical, business and marketing staff to identify new applications of the company's nucleic acid extraction, purification, and analysis technologies
- Develop new products containing the Company's technologies, including product design, protocol development, demonstration of feasibility, and transfer to manufacturing
- Assist in preparation of grant and patent applications as well as journal publications
- Provide technical support to the Company's product marketing and launch plans
- Enhance Company, technology and product awareness in key scientific and business forums, such as trade shows and conferences
Independence and Scope
- Able to work under very general (CTO) direction towards R&D and business objectives where specific plans and activities are almost always self-initiated
- Capable of managing a level of responsibility where erroneous activities and decisions could seriously affect the performance of the company
Skill Requirements
- Experience working with sources of genomic DNA such as bacterial (plasmid) colonies, blood, serum, urine, and tissue
- Experience working with nucleic acid extraction, purification, and analysis products
- Planning, executing, analyzing and reporting results of experiments
- Experience with laboratory methods and equipment, such as PCR, electrophoresis, bacterial cultures, plasmid preparations, genomic extraction, and data collection and analysis tools including statistical analysis tools
- Experience with lab automation and new product development processes a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
